Deanie M, short for Deanie Marie, was born out of the childhood nickname given to our founder, Kathleen Saucerman. As a child, she struggled with saying her legal name, Kathleen, and instead, she would reply with "Me Dean." Over time, family and friends adopted the affectionate nickname Deanie, which her father further embellished to Deanie Marie.
Deanie M is more than just a name; it's a brand that encourages individuals to reconnect with their inner child and discover their true calling. Kathleen believes that within each of us lies a piece of that inner child seeking belonging and acceptance. Through Deanie M, she hopes to inspire others to embark on a journey of self-discovery and find their own paths.
Kathleen Saucerman's pathway to Deanie M started with a diverse career, ranging from non-profit work with the Girl Scouts to corporate roles at renowned companies like Little Brownie Bakers (Kellogg Snacks), Assurant Employee Benefits, and Allstate—where she managed multi million-dollar sales territories.
While tending to her flourishing career, Kathleen also battled many personal health challenges. She coined the term "the Divorce Cocktail" to describe the overwhelming array of prescribed medications often given to women at various stages of life. Determined to make a difference and combat the benzo prescriptions in favor of a holistic approach, Kathleen embarked on a journey that took her to the jungles of Ecuador and a war-torn country in 2019. Her mission: to ensure no mother would have to risk her life detoxing from prescribed medications.
Armed with a degree in Electronic Mass Media Studies from East Carolina University, Kathleen initiated "The Chemical Unraveling of the Modern Mom" project. This life-changing journey involved international collaboration with experts, detoxification from chemical prescriptions, and the exploration of plant-based medicine solutions.
The ethos of Deanie M centers around people over profits, and Kathleen has taken a grassroots approach to address life's less-discussed challenges. The tools and resources curated by Deanie M are carefully selected, ensuring inclusivity across cultures, ages, and professional backgrounds.
From the outset, Kathleen applied her corporate and non-profit expertise to shape the company's structure. Following the "Good to Great" mentality, she strategically placed the right people in the right seats on the bus. Industry experts, such as Jamie Pearson, Alexis Mora, Beard Bros Pharms, and a lifelong friend Justin Benoliel (Sunset Film Festival 2024 Winner), have contributed to the success of the project. Object & Animal, an international production company, is providing production support, enabling Deanie M to shed light on the Benzo Crisis, educate about plant medicine alternatives, and offer solutions for individuals from diverse socioeconomic and ethnic backgrounds.
