Family Legal Support

Welcome to our community resources page dedicated to family law matters. In February 2018, Deanie M founder Kathleen Saucerman began her experience with the family law system. As a protective mother, Kathleen's firsthand experience illuminated a stark reality: the system often falls short of prioritizing the best interests of children, leaving many middle-class families vulnerable to exploitation during times of crisis.

For Kathleen and countless others, the end of a marriage doesn't always signal an end to abuse. Post-separation abuse and coercive control are unfortunate realities that many face, extending the trauma far beyond the dissolution of a relationship.

Here, we aim to empower individuals like Kathleen and provide a comprehensive repository of resources tailored to navigating the complexities of family law. Enter the Legal Abuse Scale (LAS), a crucial tool born out of a study published in May 2022. This scale, comprising 27 abuse items, was developed and administered to 222 survivor mothers, offering a framework to assess legal abuse in family court and other legal proceedings. From understanding post-separation abuse to utilizing tools like the LAS for advocacy, our page serves as a beacon of support for those navigating the often daunting landscape of family legal matters. Whether you're seeking guidance, solidarity, or simply a sense of community, you've come to the right place. Welcome to a space where knowledge is power, and support is unwavering.
